About the Role

We are seeking an individual with a degree in the field of either Psychology / Social Work / Counselling, who is an agile, proactive, team player with excellent communication skills and has a genuine passion for the sector.

 

Tasks and Responsibilities

  • The Counsellor will provide therapeutic counselling services to individuals, children and families at the, James Sheahan High School.

 

  • Support the wider organisational values, ethos and mission whilst maintaining a community-centred focus within their role and service

 

Skills and Experience

  1. Recognised degree or equivalent to in the field of Psychology/Social Work/ Counselling.
  2. Demonstrable experience in working with children to address issues such as emotional and psychological trauma, anxiety, depression, life-stage issues, behavioural problems etc
  3. Demonstrable ability in implementing intervention strategies based on sound theoretical frameworks.
  4. Demonstrable experience and ability in liaising and working with stakeholders such as referring agencies.
  5. Experience in and willingness to work as part of a team.
  6. Commitment to ongoing professional development.
  7. Willingness to work within the Catholic ethos of the organisation.
  8. Current Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel
