While wedding preparation is given a lot of attention, marriage preparation or preparation for a committed relationship can often be taken for granted or even neglected. Pre-marriage education programs are for couples considering a committed partner relationship.
The programs help couples to explore the different aspects of their relationship like communication, spirituality, intimacy, value system, parenting, family of origin, and financial management. The program facilitators guide couples in their exploration and preparation without taking on a counselling role. Programs like ‘To Us’ are run in groups, for more information including program dates, please click More Information below. These programs are popular with couples who are already married or in a committed relationship.

Some level of conflict is normal when people work together. However, persistent conflict can leave people stressed and unable to be productive and work together effectively. This can take a toll on individual employees, teams, and the whole organisation or business.
Workplace mediation aims to restore effective interpersonal relationships in the workplace, minimise the negative impact of conflict on the workplace, facilitate better communication and cooperation, and enhance organisation’s productivity.
At times people experience problems of both a personal and professional nature that can impact on their work performance. Centacare counsellors can provide assistance with issues arising in the workplace or the home such as anxiety and depression, workplace conflict or disharmony, coping with organisational change and ongoing stress. We provide these services for organisations with whom we have a service agreement.
Centacare can also assist with critical incident debriefing for managers, employees and families following a critical incident. Consultation can also be provided to management for policy development, conflict management and organisational change.
In partnership with Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB), the School Wellbeing Program is a service offered by Centacare to foster the wellbeing of students, staff and school communities across the 33 Diocesan schools. It aims to support school communities in improving and enhancing the conditions for learning for all students. Counsellors play an important role in the School Wellbeing Program through professional support that may include short term one-to-one counselling, group program facilitation and parent/caregiver meetings and workshops. Support is also available for critical incidents and case management.
Counsellors work closely with school leaders, staff, parents and caregivers to ensure all students have access to support founded on a universal and unconditional positive regard for children and young people.
Referrals are necessary to access the School Wellbeing Program via the school.
